Almaty is working to respond to this rapid growth rate with well thought-out strategies for transport, land use and community services. The City Transport Strategy for 2013-2023 is an important part of these developments. During the draft stage of strategy development, we consulted with experts and have incorporated many of their recommendations. Significantly, the strategy promotes more integrated approach to planning, linking all modes of transport together and coordinating them with city development. This method will require close collaboration between all partners in the development process.
This strategy will help to provide a sustainable foundation for Almaty’s future.
